Define Black Leader
It seems that some young black politicians are shunning the term “black leader” as too narrowly defining who they believe themselves to be or what they represent. They suggest that the term prevents them from having access to general resources and opportunities as they are characterized as not appealing to broader constitutiencies and perceived as exclusively promoting a socially active, liberal agenda. Have we changed? Are we still in touch with our past struggles and using modern day tactics to achieve our objectives or have we lost sight of our history and become disconnected from the struggle as we seek to eliminate all vestiges of racism?
