Black Leadership / Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

From the website: This series of interviews, hosted by UVA Professor and Board Chair of
the NAACP Julian Bond, was recorded from 1999 through 2004 by the
Darden School of Business in conjunction with the University of
Virginia History Department. The series is designed to examine the
lives of prominent African-Americans who have made a mark on American
life. Through their life stories, we hope to learn how leaders are
made, how they overcame obstacles and became the well-known figures
they are today.

The series features interviews conducted by Julian Bond with such leaders as Elaine Jones, Roger Wilkins, Floyd Flake, Amiri Baraka, Henry Marsh, Mary Futrell, Julian Bond interviewed by Phyllis Leffler, Oliver Hill, Lucius Theus, Earl Graves, Nikki Giovanni, Vernon Jordan, William H. Gray, III, Benjamin Hooks, Johnetta Cole, Robert Franklin and Julius Chambers. Some names I’m sure you already know, others are names you need to know. Give them a listen, they are incredible.
