Today, I sent this message to all members of my Black Webpreneur Network:
Sadly, the leadership at Ning have decided that they can no longer support the free service that this site and so many others have been built upon and they intend to transition to a paid service only. As a result of our small membership (less than 100,000) and the costs associated with maintaining the network if paid memberships or advertising is required, I’ve decided to transition as well. Our networking should and will continue to be free for all of you but at a location other than this Ning network.
Some time ago, I anticipated this kind of an action even though I believe that Ning didn’t do it with any ill intent. As I’ve said in the past, this is just the risk that you run when you don’t own your own network. Since I do happen to own my own network at BlackInternetMarketingForum.com, I encourage each of you to join other BlackWebpreneurs who are already free members of that site. In fact, many of you are members both here and there already. The BlackInternetMarketingForum.com will become the exclusive location for BlackWebpreneurs going forward and our domain will be redirected to that site with a similar look to follow. All the features that you are used to on this network exist at that site in addition to many more since I own the site and I am not subject to the restrictions of external ownership.
I hope you’ll take the time to create a new profile on the BlackInternetMarketingForum.com site if you’re not there already. It’s been growing steadily over the last few years and is much bigger than this and many other Ning networks already. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
