LinkedIn and Looking Pretty (But Why Do I Need This?)

News / Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

The data scientists at LinkedIn Labs (I didn’t know there was such a thing until I saw this) have created an application that lets you actually see how your connections are related through a visualization scheme. You determine what the colors mean by evaluating the connections for common linkages. Where you’re not quite pleased with the way your map looks, you’re encouraged to find new connections to fill out loosely connected spaces.

It’s a nice application that certainly looks pretty, but is it really useful? What do you think?
