The Nielson Company has released some recent data that shows that African-Americans are only more likely than Whites to be smartphone owners behind Hispanics and Asians. This is interesting given all the social networking that is attributed to the African-American community. Even more interesting from my perspective, is that African-Americans prefer the Blackberry as their device of choice. For the record: I hate Blackberrys. They simply aren’t that interesting or as easy to use given the other options available, but that’s just my take.Amplify’d from blog.nielsen.com
Among Mobile Phone Users, Hispanics, Asians are Most-Likely Smartphone Owners in the U.S.
Apple’s iOs is the favorite among U.S. smartphone owners who are Asians/Pacific Islanders. Thirty-six percent of Asian/Pacific Islander who own smartphones have iPhones. On the other hand, RIM Blackberry is preferred by 31 percent of African-American smartphone owners.
