There’s a popular saying in photography circles that the best camera is the one you have with you. This is why mobile camera phones have become so popular and why manufacturers have been improving the camera technology in these little do-it-all gadgets at such an exponential rate. Will they ever fully replace stand-alone cameras as capable shooters with equivalent quality? Not sure and really not interested right now as my latest love is the Panasonic Lumix GX-7. I think I’ll always be a fan of a physical camera that isn’t also doing double duty as a phone as I want my camera to handle like a camera and I want my phone to be slim and excellent at multi-media and connected access. I’m trying to pack light so I’ve got it fitted with either the Oly 17mm 1.8 or Voitlander 25mm 0.95 along with a flash in a Thinktank Turnstyle 5 bag.
2014 is the Year of the Camera. I’m ready.
